Works great..Seals the contents from the elements and you can use the jar to carry water.........But you cant boil water in it so you have to use other means of purification, like tabs or finding something to boil it in....

This Jar method also works well with First Aid Kits in your kit.........

I'll pass..Ive had conversation with others about this..I fear chemicals will leach into the water..In a rare situation I may but it have to be really serious..

If you can find a metal lid that fits to substitute for the plastic lid - instant fry pan or for boiling small quantities of water. I haven't looked - do they even make metal lids anymore.

also, you would negate it's usefullness as a water tight container [as in the lid won't fit afterward].


for purifying water in areas without any contamination of Giardia lambli, you can also use the container for SoDis purification, as long as it's made from clear HDPE or PET. this is effective against most organisms causng disentarry, against cholera, etc.
