this ought to drive sarge crazy but i'm headed up north for 30 days unexplored territory other than by map will be going in primitve kind of like clothes on my back two knives an axe, my swedish firesteel a bunch of bailing twine a 1.13kg large tin can(was large family size tin of ravilois) my compass probably a book on wild edibles

There's a couple of things that I hope you will do. Take pictures so you can share with us. Bring some form of communications gear (cell phone?) if the need arises. Again, have fun.

Wareagle69, if you only power up the phone to call for help, or to let me missus know not to start spending the life insurance money prematurely it should make hold up for the trip. Not for certain tho. just my .02 on it.

don't want to relive the numpty thread my freind but i'm going light will not be brining solar chargers
sam she only gets the money if they don't find my body for a year. in which case she gets to start dating again. anyone here know a doctor or lawer, she is a classy lady.

Get your wife to take before and after pictures of you - I've done that a couple of times on major undertakings and it's really funny. The before picture looks always nervous/excited, really highstrung, and the after picture is all self-confidence and happiness.

well hang on folks i still got a week before i head out don't bury me yet,ah wild woman pic before will be hurry up let me outta here pic after will be bearded and skinny shouldn't be a worry about bugs though it will be getting down to 12 or so at night i have noticed with my time in the bush that usually around 13celsiuos i can get a good nights sleep after about midnight, but will be fun going somewhere i have never been before, and i don't have to pack much

a little dose of honesty here
i have done both before and 30 in the hole ain't as much fun. my momma once asked me before she left this shi**y world "why is it all the heros are such troubled souls" i would just shrug my shoulders and laugh.
thinking more on this though both situations are good for the soul helps you do some deep pondering w/o distraction, is propbably why or good that i am so comfortable spending time alone.
