Well getting the wood handle made was more difficult than I had thought it would be, so after going thru 12, yes 12 handles and each one coming out like crap I just wrapped it in leather that I antiqued and said to he11 with it. Here are some pics but they are poor quality, I'll try to get better ones.

Make a set out of walnut, epoxy one scale on then drill the holes out. Put the other on the same way and use your first holes as a guide. The epoxy will hold solid enough for you to sand them the way you want and run the old copper rivets don't need to fit very tight. Clip to about 1/8" and peen. Finish off the way you want and I like to take cheap, watery super glue and rub all over the handle, one little tube should coat once. When dry lightly sand and use the glue at least one more time, just don't grab the handle after putting the glue on. If you get an itch you might do yourself some harm.

Shape the handle with a lathe for symetry, then split it and attach both sides to the run through shank. Made out of walnut or other hardwood.

You might need to carve or sand down the edges to conform to the shape of the handle portion of the shank after attached.

Okay, I think I'll try gluing the rough wood handle on and sanding down to get a fit and see how that works.
Also gonna do another sheath out of a dogs raw hide chew, those work great and are easy to make.

Looks great Beo. The leather handle gives it character.

Did you make the damascus blade itself? I've always thought that those blades were beautiful.

Yes, from a piece about 12 to 14 inches long and less than a quarter inch thick. Heated in a homemade forge and pounded out on a railroad rail (21 inches long) anvil I got from CSX railraods here in cincy. took a bit of time and then polished the blade up. Had trouble with the handle (wood working is not my cup of tea) so I wrapped it with deerskin and aged the leather, same with the sheath (gonna use the sheath on a different knife and make a raw hide chew sheath for this knife).
Thanks

You might even try Chicago screws for the handle. That will let you change the scales if one gets damaged.

Nice work Beo! Both the blade (GREAT Damascus design) and sheath are pieces of art.
