Recently I was in the garage at my grandmother’s house and found a old rail road spike. I’ve seen knives made out of them but don’t know any one who does it so I was hoping some of you might know some who does. Thanks in advance.

You don't need to furnish the spike if you order one and the maker would rather provide his own. A maker explained to me about something inconsistent with the carbon content. Some spikes I was told have too little carbon which sounded strange, but he was the maker. They are great collectors items so maybe you don't need it to hold an edge under use.
