I'm really not big on the campfire smell permeating my every fiber either but it sure beats the after dinner smells from the 4 guys I camped with.

I don't know if this will work for everyone but I like lemon candy/drops etc.. They seem to kill the stench of campfires, burnt food and air biscuits. I tried mint but it just makes bad tastes/smells worse.

Gas to get to the trail head - $50

Gear and food - $200

Smelling like campfire after enjoying a few days of solitude - Priceless!

Smelling like camp fire smoke? Uh, no. I don't like rolling around in dust either. Don't wallow in mud. Don't roll in leaves. Have been known to swim in water on occasion. Like, Dan, I'm still married.

I avoid it. Makes my lungs hurt and I cough even if I inhale the slightest bit of it. But I used to use it to cover my scent before hunting or covering the scent on my traps.

There should be a new cologne: WOODSMOKE

The right women, for us, would find this sexy

"Woodsmoke" is my very favorite fragrance! The nice thing is, it's unisex, so both of us can wear it and drive each other crazy! LOL!

I love the smell of a camp fire in the morning. You know, one time we had a camp out overnight, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I woke up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' piece of bacon. The smell, you know that wood smoke smell, the whole area. Smelled like... victory.

yep high calcium quicklime reacts with moisture of any kind to make heat
it also wil absorb all the moisture out of a given object

and it will neutralize some odors.. use the out house dump a cup of lime down the hole.

youre best bet is to hope for a hungrier bear....:D

i love the smell of woodsmoke, and when i'm out for any period or time i smudge myself to help keep the smells at bay. i also smoke my socks if i can't wash them enough. it helps keep the stink at bay.
