I cought some perch minnows and want to know what to feed them to keep them healthy. This is in general survival because maybe, if you were lucky enough, you could get some perch minnows in a wier of some sort and keep them until it was dinner time. They are about 2 inches long. I have them in my pond right now. What should I feed them so that I can fry 'em up this winter?
Earthworms, insect larvae and pelleted food as used in commercial fish farms.

yeah, Thats what I figured. There is a trout farm right near here, should I ask him what he feeds his trout and get the same thing? Or should I ask him what I should feed them?

Exterminate them all...... little basturds have destroyed enough fishing lakes around these parts. They are like rats.....
If they are in your pond, you don't have to feed them anything. If your pond is healthy there is more than enough food in it.

Just toss a few grass shrimp around, they'll find 'em. Practically ANY fish eats shrimp... mmmmm, shriiiimmp.:p

Perch are like scavengers, feeding on aquatic plants that are in the water and animal remains, flys, and worms. Kill a couple to check there stomach contents and see what they eat, then feed them whatever is found in there stomach. Trust me when they are starved a couple days they will eat almost anything.
