With bad and cooler weather this weekend, we decided to butcher our last meat steer. Filled the water, sharpened the knives and chilling the beer is complete. Buddies confirmed they can make it and should be here tomorrow morning. This big boy is well over 1250 lbs so a 28 day hang is in order. My dogs are already licking their chops in anticipation.

Is there much difference between butchering a bull than there is a deer other than the sheer size of the that thing?

Looks like you'll have some new smoking and BBQing projects.

Yes, allot more work and many more different cuts of meat. This steer I will only take the best cuts for a company BBQ and the rest will go to burger and distributed at a local church.

Yes, allot more work and many more different cuts of meat. I remember watching my grandfather slaughter a bull for about ten minutes. I got bored and ran off to do something else. This is something I intend to learn, though. This steer I will only take the best cuts for a company BBQ and the rest will go to burger and distributed at a local church.Good man. :)

Yea, they would have it tough engorging themselves on free prime grade organically grown grass fed Black Angus.

Ok but QC will want to pick their cuts before you give anything away!

For this I will be QC. Just contact me where to send the left hind quarter.
