I'm looking to buy a decent quality fixed-blade knife. That is, one with high-carbon steel. Does Buck make such knives?

Can I get them at a regional chain like Meijer? Or Gander Mountain?

Can I get one for about $25?

What about online? Any reasonable knife makers sell what I'm looking for for about $25?

I'm not looking for top of the line, just something better than the stainless import knives I currently have.

Opinions will vary wildly on this, but one that fits your criteria is the Frost (not Frosts Cutlery) Mora S1. About $18 on line.

How about an Old Hickory? High carbon and can't be beaten for about $8 tops.
