Hand water pumps

Does anyone here have experience with hand water pumps? I'm looking to buy a cistern pump (lift of about 20') and wonder if anyone knows of a pump that is good value for the money.

My only experience basically comes to, around that depth the crank handle kind seem to work better than the jack handle kind. I don't even know the brand names. :o

I've installed a number of shallow well pumps over the years. For all that, I've no advice to give. I installed whatever was on the rack at the hardware store. Never had one that didn't do what it was supposed to do.
