Very interesting!

One of the things I will really miss when the electricity goes is an on-demand hot shower.

I've been looking at buying either a solar camp shower or devising my own solution using some rain barrels for collection of water off the roof - haven't been sure how to easily heat it up though.

This may provide a solution if I can figure out a way to channel the water from the rain barrels and into the passive solar tanks...

This would be an outdoor shower on our deck - will probably have to add some extra supports underneath for the weight.

From a quick read it looks like I'd have to go with a greenhouse type installation because of cold winters.

Thanks for posting that link... so much to do!

you could use a solar powered pump to circulate from the collection barrel through the heater to a storage tank or even the water heater in the house which would let you use youre existing shower....just a thought
