TransAlta Corp. said Tuesday it will spend $123 million to expand its Summerview wind farm outside of Pincher Creek (Alberta), further growing the coal-reliant generating firm's capacity to produce renewable power.

Good post, Bragg. Personally, I think there is a lot of untapped potential in wind farms. I know there are a lot of commercial ones running but so many more could go online. An 87 unit farm just started in operation here in Indiana and has a 20 year contract with Duke Energy.

Just north of me, a farmer is set to turn on 4 smaller turbines to power his farm.

From raw materials to finished transmission, wind power seems to me to be so much cleaner than coal fired, gas fired or nuclear driven generators.
