I've got a good way to make hashbrowns. You peel potatoes and grate them like cheese on a cheesegrater. Then fry them like normal. They have a good texture and taste way better than the kind you buy in a bag. They turn color rather quickly but if you dry them off with a towel, they get their color back.
ENJOY!

My favorite is to sautée a little diced bell pepper, diced onion for a few minutes. Then add the shredded tators till you get them almost where you want them. Then add just a little diced ham or really good diced smoked sausage and finish them off. Put that on a plate and top with a hint of chedder cheese and on top of that, 2 eggs over easy.

Hang around me long enough and I'll teach all of ya'll how to clog your arteries!

You forgot the garlic but I'll let it go. Peppers, onion and garlic on the shreds. Living large. Literally.

Anybody got a box of those dried Hashbrowns, they come in a milk box looking thingie.
And you soak them over night. What kind of shelf life do they have. I never buy them now, but they were a standard in the guiding industry. They must be good for at least 2 or 3 years......?

As long as you keep the moisture away, they should last alot longer than that.

Crash, There AIN"T much good about being old, however knowing you only have to plan to make it 2 or 3 years at a time; makes it more comprehend-able...........

Man, there is a LOT of good about being old. Old ladies, old dogs, old news, old fa*ts, old money, old whiskey.

I would NEVER want to be 15 again or 25 or 35. It's hard to imagine how dumb I was and how smart I thought I was. I sort of get the feeling I'll be saying that about 45, 55 and 65 once I'm 105.:D

If you get there before I do keep the light on. I'll need all the help I can get.

Here's something to try. Buy something with a shelf life of oh, say 30 years and do what it takes to outlive it.
