View Full Version : English Bacon - Irish Bacon
Yes, I am a bacon purist. I prefer mine thick cut and smoked, not maple cured unless the maple flavor is mild. I eat tons of the stuff (way too much according to my doctor - but I don't believe him).
Nonetheless, we can't eat our regular bacon at every meal.
How many of you have tried English - Irish Bacon? I love the stuff.

I've eaten bacon in Ireland back in 2003, so I guess my answer is yes. Those were some of the best breakfasts I've ever eaten consistently. Not sure if my friend (met him in Japan when we were both teachers) and his family were just being welcoming to me, or if all Irish eat like that. Either way, can you say "savory"?

Scottish bacon is pritty much the same as irish, and english bacon, I think the irish one might be a bit better but ive only tryed a few of each countries products. Irish cadbury dairy milk bars of chocolate are better than the ones we have tho, :( That, and Irish stew are two of some of the best things in ireland, Along with guiness. :D

I love free bacon. I also love every single Cadbury's variety I've ever tried. Same with Irish stew (whole onions - mmmmmmm - I'll use some of the ones that Crash sent me) and Guinness.

I'll try to find a picture of some "Pig Candy". I've only made it a half a dozen times. It's pretty addicting.
You take some bacon.... coat it with a mixture of brown sugar and cayenne pepper. Put it in an aluminum pan that has holes in it and toss on the smoker. It crisps up with that coating.

I love food. I love good bbq and being that it's far and few between where as restaurants are concerned, at least around here, I perfect what I do. Yes... I am my own worst enemy. One of my favorite sayings to the wife when I'm taste testing something and she's standing around is, "

She rolls her eyes and gives me that "oh god" look.
But... all in all, I love good food... always have and it's probably what's going to kill me some day.

Yeppers, I'd say it was related to the t-storm. I do have to say that I've had Comcast for quite a few years and I've never experienced the problems a lot of people seem to suffer at times.
