I'm looking for a good waterproof tarp that I can use as a tp shelter as well as a possible shelter roof.

You need to find one quick, there is nothing worse than soggy TP!

A Zip Lock bag will protect your TP from the weather.

Unless you meant teepee...

Ever seen the inside of a Tee-Pee after a rainstorm when they forgot to close the storm flaps?

Soggy in there too!

No matter how well you close up the smoke flaps on a Tipi....water will run down the poles, and/or thru the smoke hole.
That's why the fire pit is in the center, and you live a sleep around the outside perimeter.

Now back to the OP.....Please define a "TP shelter".

TP shelters are best for minor shade, but don't actually protect from the elements. And as much as I am against littering, at least they are biodegradable.

Using a tarp to cover a TP shelter would be more than double the work; just use the tarp as the shelter, and the TP for its intended use (quite the creature comfort in the woods) and as tinder, in case you need it.

Well, that vid looked pretty self explanatory.....So what exactly is your question?

Looked like he was using canvas, and possible 12' X 12' ?

Definitely a canvas shelter. Very Heavy!

Yeah in the video he mentioned it needed to be rectangular. Also yeah I believe canvas is what I'm looking for. I have many tarps but not canvas. I knew his was a fabric unlike mine. Just wasn't sure what would be waterproof.
