Trying to be a good guy....gets to be a real problem.

The irony of it all

Toilet paper is totally biodegradable, in case you’re wondering. So is poop. Biodegradable = it breaks down all by itself. Just sayin’.

Hence the time honored saying, "**** fire and save the matches."

Carry a small trenching tool and dig down about six inches. Poop in hole with TP and cover it up. Quicker and less smelly than burning it!

I believe the burning of TP in the wild is because of being bombarded with "stuff" from environmentalists that may be taking the message a wee bit far. The cyclist probably thought he was doing what was expected. When I bury it, the only way I'm "leaving a trace" is if some azzhat comes along and digs it up.

The food

I cant imagine eating people, regardless of national origin

Sorry ---- long standing joke here that started with our first Jamboree seven years ago. Then it was Danish - the pastry, not the people.

You need to expand your horizons my friend. I love German myself. The beer, not the food or the people.

I have seen arguments about this, whether bury or burn leaves less of a "trace." Apparently, there are those who believe burying the paper is an unreasonable burden on nature to decompose, and the TP will 'last' for a very long time, while 'just ash' has less of an impact. It turned out that some of these advocates were against cat holes, claiming the waste will be processed more quickly above ground than below.
