The explanation I've heard is that the reason the flag appears to wave is not due to wind, but inertia. The pole was moving, the cloth had to catch up and then took a moment or two to settle. Apparently the effects of inertia take place even in a vacuum.

I disagree with you. I too think his holding the flag pole caused the flag movement. As for the second "vid". The narrator made many inaccurate statements.

I was sitting at a table in the restaraunt TDW worked at one night when this muslim from Armenia who co-owned the restaurant walks in and sat down. We started talking because he commented on a 2nd ID 44th Eng Bn shirt I was wearing. He goes into this whole song and dance about how it was Bush and Cheney, and you can fold a dollar this way, and yada yada yada. It was everything I could do not to knock the guy out. I've heard all the conspiracy theories, and while I admit there are some co-incidences, I've never really believed them.

I was kinda poking fun at the whole "the CIA faked the moon landing" idea with that question, and after reading the comments on youtube for the video was wondering just how far people believe the USA's leadership will go to put one over on us. Fake the moon landing? Um, ok, maybe I guess. Kill 3000+ people to preserve our current standard of living by creating a fake war to secure foreign oil, and then plunge the country into an economical crisis to keep it going? Mmmmmm...doubtful.

Think about the logistics of pulling something like that off. Think about how many people would be involved to design and film, all the gov't dinks, etc. etc. And everyone keeps a secret for 40 years. Yeah, like that will happen. Do I think our government is not telling us the whole story? You bet. Do I think that they had a physical hand in someway as to those buildings collapsing after those planes hit? No I don't. All it took was for one floor to collapse and the momentum of weight above is going to do the rest. Those planes took out a lot of structure and beams don't have to melt to fail. They just have to bend, twist or sag.

Please....I hope that nobody buys into the Rosie argument that fire can't melt steel. Steel is born of fire and can certainly be melted by it. http://education.jlab.org/qa/meltingpoint_01.html The properties of an accelerant and the temperature that it burns at are only part of the equation. That's what starts the fire. Think of a coal fire......add a bellows.....get the picture. Another example that is etched clearly on my mind is the shipboard fire fighting training that I have done. A small half gallon container of diesel fuel with a rag hanging out of it lit on fire. Smokes like heck. Once the hull insulation caught on fire (less than 60 seconds) the temperature of the compartment went from 100 degrees to over 2000 degrees. It wasn't the temp of the diesel, but everything that was burning.

Likewise, idiots like Jesse Ventura who claim a third building went down on 911 that didn't get hit by a plane... well **** Jesse, do you think maybe, just maybe, the combined concussive force of 2 100+ story massive skyscrapers probably including millions of tons of building materials falling to the ground could possibly weaken the structural integrity of a building right next door? Then people saying you cannot melt steel. Dude, a ****ing jet flew into the buildings and you think they shouldn't have fallen? The simplest answer is most often the correct one. What do you think is more likely? There is a vast government conspiracy to kill our own citizens and crush our economy to get foreign oil we could have had at the drop of the hat? Do you not remember anything that happened in the 90s or up until 911? Nothing at all, selective amnesia? Do you not recall that there was an Iraqi oil embargo, the only oil out was allowed through an oil for food program? Even so we were still getting Iraqi oil, you can look it up. Even in 02, we were getting Iraqi oil. Do you not recall that France & Russia, who had sweetheart deals with Saddam, twice tried to get the UN to repeal the embargo, twice, to be vetoed by us and the British? All we had to do if we wanted more Iraqi oil, of which we were already getting much, is to allow them to repeal the embargo. We didn't though, because Saddam was shooting missiles at our fighters patrolling the UN mandated no fly zones on a more or less daily basis. Additionally, as the only sitting country head in the world who had used weapons of mass destruction in the past (google Anfal), we feared giving Saddam more money would just lead to more genocide in his country.

Furthermore, all US oil imports are a matter of public record, and while we do get a good deal from the Saudis (as the world's biggest oil reserve, it'd be hard not to), in general our oil comes from other places. Why? Well, the middle east is far away. And yet idiot Charles Rangel, the democrat from the asylum, went on the Today show when Nigeria was having civil unrest and said "If Nigeria had oil we'd be there already." I wanted to kick him in the head. Ditto for places like Venezeula, etc. People say our foreign policy is entirely predicated upon oil, and yet.... Obviously not. The international community begged for months for us to get involved in Nigeria, I think eventually we did send like 200 peacekeepers, but we certainly were not in a hurry. We get a ton more oil from Nigeria than Iraq, and have for many years.
