Here are some things you can use Bounce fabric softener sheets for:

1. Repel mosquitoes. Just tie a sheet of Bounce on your pack.
2. Drop a sheet INSIDE your pack to help relieve that "BO that died 6 months ago" smell backpacks tend to develop.
3. Clean baked-on food from a cooking pan. Put a sheet in the pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean.
4. Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sandpapering. A used sheet of Bounce will collect sawdust like a tack cloth.
5. Deodorize hiking boots. Place a sheet of Bounce in your hiking boots overnight so they'll smell great in the morning.

Dryer sheets repel rodents as well, they do not like the perfumy scent.Just add them to your storage boxes, and replace them from time to time.

Is there a risk of attracting a predator with these Bounce fabric sheets? Bears have really good noses, last thing I'd want to do is smell good to a bear.

Not sure I want to trust my safety to a fabric sheet with mosquitoes carrying West Nile and Meningitis down here. DEET seems a lot safer.

Rub the dog down with a couple of sheets, he's not so intense, just a little ripe after the bounce treatment.

Buddha - I have no idea about attracting predators. I don't think you'd smell too sexy to one. As for the DEET, it's hands down the best but I don't like to leave it on for days at a time and some folks just don't want to put it on them.

Coot - You are just bad to the bone....:D

Just to set the record straight, Buddha PM'd me a link to Snopes that debunks the Bounce idea for mosquito control, which is a big RATS! in my book. I guess I'm back to just DEET.

According to the link, the is no evidence that Bounce will repel the little beggars.

Is there evidence that they wont repel them ?

I understand these bounce thingies are also good for removing static cling from clothes in the dryer. Who knew?

As far as the skeeters go, body odor's going to attract them....and bears for that matter. Be a ***** having a bear and a swarm of mosquitoes fighting over who gets to eat you....

I think it's the carbon dioxide in your breath, scooter. It can't be BO. I don't stink. (sniff, sniff). Nope. Don't allow it.

Skeeters are attracted to CO2. I guess if you can hold your breath while you cut the grass or BBQ you'd get bit less.

Now I won't argue with you about BO attracting bears. But that doesn't worry me any. I'll have my Bounce under each arm.

Simple solution

Turn yourself into a plant so that you exhale oxygen, not carbon dioxide.

If some of the gang keeps eating too much chocolate with their bacon they could turn themselves into vegetables instead.:D:D
