When it comes to food preps, the rule of thumb is that you store what you prefer to eat as far as practical.

The way to narrow down the list is to try to get the most bang for your buck as far as nutrients go as well as what lends itself to long term storage. For example, beans & legumes are easy to store for an extended period of time and have as much protein as meat which is useful if you aren't able to kill anything. Nuts, dried fruit & sardines, also amazingly nutritious. IMO, you can survive with the basics if that's all you had and that's where you ought to start.

Or canned bacon and Twinkies. Twinkies are pretty dense and bacon is .... well....good.

What I love about those is, they're a waaaaay more fun way to commit suicide with than just about anything you can think of. (cyanide, for example) It may take a little longer but they say time flies when you're having fun.:sneaky2:
