Today, we went to a 'green convention show' in our local area. amid all the booth sellers I ran across one that got my interest up.. They have a website which I'll post below..

Have you ever considered living in a tree house? Not like the standard tree house of Swiss Family Robinson fame.. but a modern treehouse. Well, I picked up the brochure and the salesmans card.. which conveniently had the website on it.. so here it is.. This will be open for discussion obviously.. let's here it, what do you think? I consider it a very novel approach as part of outdoor survival in the shelter area.

Just not quite sure what I would do with it. If I wanted to meditate and reflect on nature I would prefer not to do it in an unsightly giant golf ball that is stuck in a tree. For me, kind of spoils the mood.

I think my tree stands are cooler. At least ya cant see em being that they are covered in camo.

Hey Ridge,

I considered living in a thee house, but then the girls started getting bumpy.

Actually, Can you imagine a tree house after an Andrew, Betsy, camile, Opal, Ivan, or Katrina came for a little visit? And the climetologises claim that the samr type of weathed will strike the remainder of the nation as well, before too long. And if the rains quit,... your tree dies.

Well, you would have to be in a certain part of the country.... or world. It isn't for everybody. They are building them in Ethiopia...

Did ya'll check the Catalog link where it goes into PDF and explains all the set ups, particulars of them and everything?

P.S. I actually did ask the salesman about having the tree die out from under you.. He said that you would then move the unit to another tree. It isn't attached to the tree at all but rather draped over the branches with cables. Doesn't harm the tree in any way he said.

I applaud you canid.. and I bookmarked your website. That is what I call roughing it... and I thought I was into roughing it. Yeah, in comparison I guess those units would be the lap of tree luxury. :D

Admittedly without having checked the links to see what the tree houses look like, I just imagine waking half up at 3 in the morning, stumbling out of bed to go for a pee, making a wrong turn possibly because of swaying house and (kazoo sound effect inserted here please) splat!!:eek:

I wasn't to impressed with the golfball, but my wife is totally down with buying some land and going the route of the second house, or hobbit-hole, whatever you wanna call it. She made the comment that I have to build a sepearte dome for the kennels, though. :)

Well, the thing that impressed me was the dude has his priorities in order.

"Spring, mud on the roof, plastering and whitewashing done, landscaping nearly finished, beer brewing, bread in the oven."

Cat can't be all bad with beer brewing.

I like both options.. especially the hobbit hole.. great for entertaining.. :rolleyes: There is the option of building a suspension bridge from one 'golf ball' to the other for the kennel on the tree house... :D
