I hate doing fire mitigation work around the homestead.........BUT it must be done or risk a total loss from a wildfire. Do you have a cleared fireproof area around buildings.........????

On the positive side.......WOW, talk about view enhancement. (I can now see Russia)

With the extended droughts and recent large wildfires in our state, I now do one or two clean-ups a year around any critical infrastructure. I'll stack cleared brush, limbs, and debris into burn piles that'll get lit when the burn conditions are favorable. I may not be able to stop a wildfire from reaching these areas, but I can eliminate enough of the fuel sources so that it poses little if any threat if it should happen.

I don't clear anything out. Rainforests don't have many fires.

My problem is trees growing out into the fields....and at buildings.
So clearing trails and removing possible house ands shed hazards is a twice a year job...or as needed.
