I was at the local salvage yard (junk yard) looking for a part for my weed eater. Anyhoo I spied a pair of lugged rear tractor wheels. My brother is into making tractors and such from truck engines and misc. So I measured these wheels up and got a price from the yard man.

Called my brother and ran the dimensions by him and to see if he wanted them. He said gee, those sound like allis challmers B wheels and they would fit your tractor. I had no dang intention on getting steel wheel for my tractor but the more I thought about it and the more I realized no flat tires, the more I liked the idea. In addition the lugs make it easier to climb up on the tractor, as a fella gets older that becomes more important.

I bought those wheels and will be mounting them soon.

Cool, around here they're hard to find, city folk buy them up for lawn decorations. and will pay crazy amounts of money for them too!!!

I checked to see if the wheels would fit the b and they will. Not bad at a hundred bucks for the pair. Lot cheaper than rubber for the tractor.
Lugged wheels are all we had when I was a lad, no flat tires then either.

here's a couple photos, thanks for looking.

Perfect size, now to put the other one on.

I like it rough. I never knew lugged wheels were made for allis b's. My brother is probably lamenting because he is in the process of making up a couple lugged wheels for his allis b from some wc lugged wheels and here I find a couple in a junk yard. I may give them to him but he will have to come up from kentucky and get them.

You could start a side business of aerating people's yards.

They look a WHOLE lot better on your tractor than they would for scrap iron. I love seeing old stuff put back in service. Maybe you can sell those rubber tires to the city folks to sit in their front yard.

What's the weight difference between the lugged vs rubber+rim?

About 15 minutes. Randy is pretty fast at changing them out. Oh.....you said weight.....never mind.

I think the weight is about the same at least it felt like it when I changed it out. Now if the rubber was loaded it would be heavier for sure.

LOVE, LOVE LOVE, the way those wheels look! I'd probably want to make a table using the wheel as a top with a 1/4 glass top. It would be cool figuring out what kind of base to put on.

Back when we lived in a house, I had all sorts of projects going on...sure miss that.

Is it just me or is that one big honkin' crescent wrench?

A table is a great idea and come to think of it there may be a single orphan wheel around here. A wrought iron base could be made up and then a glass top, great idea.

It's a big honking crescent wrench for a big honking nut. LOL

Here's a console table I made yrs. ago by using an old sewing machine base I got at a flea market for $20. Did a faux verdigris finish on the base, got a welder to install 2 metal supports to hold the top-- a remnant green marble piece, custom cut to size. The whole thing was under $80.

Yup, gonna need a blow torch to make those bad boys go flat. Glad to see they were saved and still usable.
