Impressive. One of the best displays I've seen of robotics in a while. I wasn't to impressed with the pack mule that was stumbling around, but that has some real potential.

I knew if we didn't stop him from surfing sooner or later he'd come up with something like this..we're doomed, doomed!

Kind of reminds me of one of the scenes from the movie Aliens with Sigourney Weaver.

One shot, one kill and the end result, a hunk of metal and hydraulics on a pile of flesh.

couple of decades and it'll take a .50 browning brass to take out the armor on such tools. though i suppose simple/practical innovations will be made on that front aswell.

Nice idea, but how long do the batteries last? Will you have to bring a whole truckload of batteries just to make it work 7 days in the field? Is it worth the extra personnel to drive the truck, and the gas to power the truck to do this?

No, see, you shoot your soldiers up with steroids so they can hump the thing wihtout power, then you only turn it on so the beefcake bulletcatchers can use it to accomplish the mission. Then you power it down and hump it back out. It'd be the same as your NOD's or your Plugger. A sensitive device you'll have to pay for if you damage or lose.

Battleground of the future.

"Die you filthy son of a...what the? Hey, towel head, kings!! Time out."
"What is the problem, infidel?"
"My dang battery died."
"Are you using Everyready or Rayovac?"
"What? Oh, Radio Shack nickel metal hydride."
(terrorist nodding and smiling) "Hagi!! Do you have any nimh batteries. The infidel's exoskeleton died."
(From behind rock) "What size?"
"Tell him AAA. Let's see, 1,2,3,...I need eight of 'em"
(terrorist walks from behind rock counting batteries) "I only have Iranian. You should carry spares. You could get hurt in situations like these" (terrorist hands him batteries).
"Yeah, thanks. Go get behind those rocks again and give me a minute to change these out."
"No problem. (terrorists walk off) "So, Hagi, how is the little one?"
