Been fooling with roofs lately.

Here's a photo of my trapping shack. I roofed it with tin awhile back but just got around to installing a ridge cap. I need to get me some round tuits but that's another story. Anyhoo there was some extra tin laying around so my frugal self decided to use that for a ridge cap. I cut the tin half in two long ways and then cut the leftover rib off. There's one rib left in the center. I used this rib for the apex of the roof and pushed the edges down to the roof and screwed it through the roof tin ribs. Here's a photo of the start. tis officially done now

Here's a few photos of a barn that I'm coating with mobile home roof coating. I lean the ladder up and go up, pull all loose nails and replace them with screws. Then I go back up and coat the roof, move the ladder over and start over.

here's a few photos

here's a photo of the front of my old barn, my other barn is in the background. I recently built a couple leantos on that barn. It has pretty new tin walls and shingle roof.

this is what it looks like before it's coated, deferred maintenance and all but it's getting there.

It's work, but it's therapeutic work. Great job! When you're finished up, I could use you down here for a few weeks. :smash:

Looking good. Once you've finished at Ken's could you pop up here, we have a few badly mistreated roofs in desperate need of some lovin'.

thanks for the comments. I would love to help you guys out but you probably couldn't afford the beer it would take. However if you talk me into it, get the beer AFTER I'm done with the job. LOL.

Cool. Though I kind of liked that rusted tin look.

thanks for the comments. I agree the rusty look is neat but this tin has been used a few times over and there is old nail holes and such. Figure I'll get more years out of it with the coating.

That's cool,......I like the metal roof as well.
The Base Pro Store in Bossier City, La, .....they did it with New "old" tin .....Just so it would look cool.

Congtats on the renewal of old materials.
