I saw this posted on Facebook. Has anyone here done this?

"Cleaning Fruit - Fill sink with water, add 1 Cup of Vinegar, and Stir. Add all fruit, and Soak for 10 minutes. Water will be dirty, and fruit will sparkle with no wax, or dirty film. Great for Berries too, as it keeps them from molding. Do this with strawberries, and they last for weeks!"

Never seen that before,I would trust that better than those "fruit washes" you can purchase.

I'm definitely going to try this. I don't have many problems with blueberries, but blackberries and raspberries seem to mold in a couple of days and strawberries in four or five days.

I wonder if it works along the same lines as fruit fresh as well? I do not use fruit fresh, but rather use lemon juice instead.

I would think the acidity to vinegar sets up a hostile environment for mold delaying it for some time. Perhaps it's acidic enough to cut the wax as well. Interesting. I too will have to try this.

Thanx Ken you rock! I recently gave a bunch of fruit to my rabbits cause it was goin' bad too fast for me to eat, so now I am happy and they are sad.
