Came across this link http://nation.time.com/2013/02/21/youre-a-seal-stranded-in-hostile-territory-whats-in-your-survival-kit/?hpt=hp_t3&utm_source=Feb+23+BTW&utm_campaign=BTW+Feb+24&utm_medium=email

I understand pretty much all of the requirements on the list except for the bobby pins. For making expedient lock picks perhaps? Or if you are in the bush for too long and you eventually need to pin your hair back?

Bobby pins are pretty handy devices actually. They are used to stop nasopharyngeal airways from moving, fish hooks, emergency skin sutures (ouch!), and to hold your drawers together. Pretty handy.

Of course Rick would think of holding up his drawers.. I mean what else you gonna do if lose weight and your hong starts to slide down. I would hate to see that happen if you have ever seen his picture.

Worn on the belt in back...picking handcuffs....was on CSI LA.

Short a battery for a fire making device, wire for most any thing needed....yeah lots of stuff.

Survival kits? SEALS are a hit and run organization. What happened to no man left behind? Anyhow my idea of a survival kit for SEALS would be 1. Ammo 2. Ammo 3. Ammo 4. Ammo 5. Water

I've been a medic for almost 12 years now, yet I learn something new everyday. I'm assuming clamping them to the nose with the bobby pins?

Probably to poke me in the eye in case I wake up so that I don't see the size of the tube you are pulling out of my nose.
