Here's an old saying -- "Half your wood and half your hay, You should have on Candlemas Day."
February 2nd
Or are you set for winter?

Y'all have any other old saying?

Early to bed early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and wise. If you get the proper amount of sleep your body functions better and so does your mind so you can work harder to make more. At least that used to be true in this country.

Red sky in the morning, sailer take warning. Red sky at night, Sailer's delight. Have no idea where or when this first got started but, it's often very true.

Don't burn your fire to high, or too early, the night is long and cold.......a save a green stick to toss in when you turn in.....so as to have something to get it going with in the morning.
