This poor girl walked right into a rattlesnake nest while talking on her cell phone. The darndest things happen when people talk on cell phones, like having wrecks in their cars, and walking into snake nests:scared:
Thankfully she survived the incedent!

I thought a snattlerake was one of those yard dwelling critters that jump up and bite you in the face if you step on their tines.

I have never seen a den. In fact, I thought were holes; usually abandoned by other animals.
I learned something today.

Wish we had those on the streets of Manhattan.

Another failure in observation and knowing your surroundings. She's very lucky.

Call it anything you wish. I grew up in the Southeastern United States, and have practically had to comb six species of poisonous snakes outa my hair (three kinds of Rattlesnake, Cottonmouth, Copperhead, and Coral Snakes). Since moving to SoCal in 1988, and in spite of rather significant travel in the local "wilds" I have yet to see even one living, breathing representative of the poisonous snake community. Once, I did see a juvenile member of the Pacific Diamondback community being consumed by a Roadrunner, but I don't think that should count.

There are quite a few around this part of the hill country, but ubless you really work at it, you may never see one....just use care when working with wood piles, and stuff up side down in the field, like boats and such....

Last one I scared up with with the 4 wheeler w/mower on the back.......missed him.
