Hey guys I wondered if anyone keeps an Army Poncho in their emergency kit.

I picked up a US Army Poncho and more 550 cord the other day. Both are items that I believe everyone should have in their emergency kit. They are very versatile, lite, and can save your life. I did a quick video of my newest addition to my emergency kit. Please sit back, watch, and enjoy!

P.S. I picked them up from a local Army Navy Surplus store. Man! I could spend hours inside the store. My Christmas list just got longer.

Oh, I forgot to mention. I am super excited as this weekend I am finally able to get free and take my family camping. Can't wait to try out some of the gear.

I pack a casualty blanket and a 55-gal barrel liner. Those ponchos get heavy after a while.

A poncho was the only thing I used as a tent for a long time. My boys thought I was nuts but that's all I used. I have to have my tent and thermarest these days but I still carry my poncho.

I like ponchos because, well, they can keep you dry during a rain.
