It's not a training manual, it is like listening to your brother tell you about life on the front. I found the "Direct Action" reporting more interesting than the sniping. It is a good read if your interested in learning about that war, it's planning, failures, and success, and the mindset of the enemy. I would give it 8 1/2 stars out of possible 10.

Chris Kyle is a pretty amazing individual. It is on my "too read" list.

It is an excellent book. I also recommend Marcus Latrell's Lone Survivor about his SEAL experiences. The two books go hand in hand. Another good book that is a little older is Inside Delta Force by Eric Haney about his time with the elite force.

If you enjoyed American Sniper, you will also enjoy No Easy Day.

Cool, that was the guy who did the Stars earn Stripes show last month right? Might have to call the library and see if they have it.
