Talofa Lava ("hello" in Samoan) from Faiaoga ("schoolteacher"):
From what I have seen, the discussions here are useful and generally courteous. I hope to be allowed to continue.
I am worn out, washed up beachcomber who has been a science teacher in the Pacific region for some time. After college, I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Western Samoa and was allowed to live with a Samoan family who graciously shared their lifestyle with me. I do speak Samoan and continue to be interested in primitive living techniques and survival skills.
Other than my Peace Corps experience, I worked in Southeast Alaska on a road survey crew and have backpacked and skied in the Sierra Nevada. I have planted taro, harvested palolo (seaworms) and eaten fruitbat. I hope to learn from and share with others on the forums. Faiaoga
