Own the Night

Well bought me a night vision monocular and WOW i own the night. If any one thought they should get a some night vision i do recomend. Got mine at Academy Sports and ican see many uses for this.

I'm kinda techie, geeky, gadgety. But, I haven't been able to justify night opts(money, weight, utility). What are your plans for it's use?

I do yearn for night vision capability on my BYB air rifle.......laser does work pretty well, will light up the eyeball......but alas a tad pricey yet, for my taste.

When you skip down to the reviews ignore the ultranegitive ones. They are written by folk that have no ability to read instructions. You have to put the batteries in facing the proper direction, turn the unit on pick you screen color and adjust it to your eyes. The LED on one side lights to show working long range and the other side is IR and shows no visible light. People were taking them back for refund because both sides did not light up.

No they are not milspec quality, but they do work. In dead black total bat cave darkness I can read large print on the boxes in my storeroom. Outside, with any moon or residual light they are good out to 50 yards and not the 50 feet stated.

You have to hold them up to your face but they work great with a lazer equipped handgun or a light .22 rifle.

During the Racoon War I used them to verify my targets in the fringe areas and zeroed in on the "blob" with the scoped .22. They proved great for those times when you were in "is that what I think it is?" mode.

with no light using the infrared i can see 30 to 40yrds clearly and out to 100 little less. good moon with no infrared 100 yrds or more. going to use it camping or just lookining around in yard when i hear noises. Then if total down happens use for survival. will do pics.
