nice. straw insulation rocks, and it's a good filler for mud/clay.

Very interesting site. I wonder how much the land costs? It's encouraging to think you could build a decent cabin for less than $1,500, but property can be expensive around here.

iv been looking to build a cabin like that for years , if you buy 3+ acres of wooded area with big trees you can make the cabin yourself , thats the way we always did it. i dont have the money right now though, from what iv seen the closer to a city/road the more expensive. iv found land 40 km from the nearest road for less then $1 an acre and waterfront property with a road 500 meters away 50 km from the city for $2000 an acre. also depends on how far north and whether logging / mining companies have an interest in buying land there.
