We were up for a few days. I am back on the generator. have spent about $700.00 on fuel for the generator in the last 26 days. YUCKIE. Now that was the good news.

The bad news is that a 1,300 foot span of line crossing Canyon Creek has a foot of ice on it. If it goes down it will be ugly for a long long long time. Oh'well thats life.

Sorry to hear you power troubles SD. Having lived in the northern part of the country most of my life I know that winter can be a bear when it comes to power. I think it was winter of 1979 when my house was without power for about 10 days. Windchills in the 60's to 80's below. Don't think I'll ever forget that. Btw Even though you have to feed it, it's nice to have the generator.

Hang in there. Hope the power line holds.

That really sucks, particularly after just getting hooked up.

Some times all these "new fangled' improvements are just more trouble......

So sorry to hear that SD. At least you know how to deal with it although I know the drill is getting old.
Wish you could take the opportunity to go somewhere warmer til it all gets sorted out.

At those rates you might be money ahead to put a lineman on retainer. Ice on the lines is a pain in the keester. The good news is all it takes is a 2lb line hammer and a few love taps to get it off.

.....or three more inches of ice.
