Does anyone know of good areas, forests, parks, etc in the Southern ontario area that is great for backpacking, expeditions or even a basic survival practices?

I am sure your Provence Park and recreation department has a website also. You might also check on the wildlife management areas. Out local WMA system is actually better than the park system for survival training.

where bouts are you in southern Ontario ... I lived down there for waaaaaay too many years ! can tell you where to go ! ! ! Hmm sounded bad .. intended good hehaheaha !

I live in The waterloo area, cambridge to be specific.
I can travel as far as parry sound though.

I live north of Parry Sound .. less people ..... just the way I like it ..room to hide ........ millions of acres of untouched land ... find me if you can LOL !

No, my grandparents refuse to drive me any further unless i pay for gas :p, and with the prices of gas, thats not something i'm down for aha, but they dont mind going to parry sound for their cottage.
