OK, helpers. I need to push 100 amps 28 to 30 feet with no loss. Request suggested wire size, and yes it will be aluminum wire/cable, I can't afford copper. Thank You.

I think a #4 Copper would work, but if using Aluminum #2 should be used. That's for the Hot and Neutral. The Ground can be #6 Aluminum. Voltage drop should not be an issue for 30 feet of run.

There will be two hots and a neutral. I have got the 4/0 4/0 2/0 run to the outside of the cabin, and it should be delivering close to 200 amps. 100 amps will go to a future shop building, and 100 amps will run 28 feet into the load panel inside the new cabin.

I actually did the same thing at my dad's place. Split 200 amp into 100 amp panels. 2 gauge aluminum will handle 100 amps, but I have heard that you shouldn't exceed 80% of the amphere rating so O gauge may be better since it handles up to 125 amps. I used the 2 gauge and it was perfectly fine.

You are welcome. I miss Alaska as well, even my wife told me today she wants to go back. Gonna try to head back after this tour. Just 3 more years.

Well, as it turns out I was just today gifted with lots of #2 AWG, so that is what I will use.
