If you could only have one?????

Which three would do????

I want a combo so I'll only buy one ammo.... which one?????

Come on fellows, let's get real with a different question.

HOW MANY GUNS DO YOU HAVE DUPLICATES OF????

And how many calibers are you repeating with multiple guns?

Like the three .38 specials in the safe, the 4 lever actions in the closet or the matched 12&20 guage shotguns.

Come on fellas, I know Rick has sunk at least three canoes just this year, dial in the old memory bank.

Yeah I know, pretty silly when except you keep dumping that canoe....you know?

I think a better question would be....How many and what can you carry, (weight w/ammo) in different scenarios, from a walk around the property, to hunting trip, to Bug out with an impending Zombie attack.

Personally I believe in redundancy... and deploying my assets, if I gonna use my Ruger 7mag out west, you can believe I have a spare, as well as a larger caliber handgun (or two)...for all these bears we keep hearing about.

Night stand, truck guns, shed guns....Now a whole new world.... CC in a few days.......They make brand new ones everyday!

Different tools for different jobs........

Then you get into project de jure,.... be it antique shotguns....or Nagants.....or Multi barrels for the H&R Handi rifle....or muzzle-loaders...or a gun you just happen to have molds and loading dies for....or just because " I always wanted one...or that's just plain cool...come home with me.

I agree with those that chose what they have for their "3 guns" or "best choice" for self defense, or can "only have one gun" (been talking to DW?...got her convinced.. don't need y'all causing problems...ya know?)....Dance whith who ya brung...you made the choice, and convinced your DW... defend it....it's all good.

And remember if a little does a little good, a lot will do a lot of good....never keep everything in one place...no one will know what you have.

I have several of each of the following calibers of hand guns...

22 (different model weapons)
357 (different model weapons)
9 (some same, and some different model weapons)
40 (different model weapons)
45 (some same, and some different model weapons)

There are others, but not multiple weapons........yet.

It's weird how it happens. As a kid I bought a uncut 30-40 krag. It was my deer rifle and I grew fond of it. Then I did some work for my father and he gave me a cut on 30-40 krag that I sporterized. Then along came a 95 winchester in 30-40 krag and it was a pretty good deal too. It's weird how it happens. That's just scratching the surface, I'm not going to talk about other calibers LOL.

Ya know though I only have one .310 cadet or 44 british bulldog LOL.

Three .22
Two 12ga
Two 20ga
Maybe two 9mm within a month.

I agree with Hunter, spread out your assets. If your canoe tips, you want to have something else to fall back on!

I think I've got it figured out on the canoe thing. Don't stack everything in one end. I always wondered why the front end stood out of the water so high.

A well stocked beer cooler will help balance the load, and they sorta float......at least enough to find them....so you can drown your sorrows when all those assets sink to the bottom.

If you inherit some firearms, they don't really count, Right?

I do have to agree, some calibers just seem to find you, whether you want them or not...raffles seem to increase certain firearms that are "cool' but not necessarily what you want....you most likely not would not "buy" one, but a $10 buck raffle ticket, doesn't seem too bad.

I wonder sometimes why the price of guns and ammo go up like they do. Randys post answers that!

Somewhere an ATF agent just smiled.

Every firearm I own is a legal firearm. Many of them are family heirlooms. Most where acquired long ago before the panic buying that happens to occur in these recent times. The ATF and myself were on a first name basis. I was a FFL dealer for many years. They know me.

I don't have many weapons that I don't have at least one duplicate of. Just a handfull of lone soldiers in my collection. I would undoubtedly keep two 4" .357 magnum stainless steel revolvers if I could have only "one" gun. "One gun is none and two is one" is the way I look at it. We keep spare tires don't we? We would not even thinks about going off shore without a back up or ''kicker'' motor. Why not guns? My main reason first and foremost for duplicates is pretty simple though......''BECAUSE I CAN'' :).

without going into details of what I have , I will say I love the .40 SW , I currently have 3 , a Glock 22 , SW SD40 ,and a KelTec Sub2000 , without a doubt just carrying either the Glock or Smith with the KelTec is really all I need ,I can fit bothe weapons easily inside a cheap school kids backpack , the Keltec is a rifle that folds in half , it has the "Glock" grips and therefore uses the Glock 22 magazines , anyone see why I like it yet , it is extremely accurate just like the Glock , except because its a rifle I can hunt with it much more efficiently than the handgun! I would urge anyone especially Glock owners who carry a 17/19 (9mm) or 22/23 (.40SW) to buy a sub2000 in either the 9mm or .40 SW , it will add greatly to your sidearms potential! Plus its fun to shoot!

Oh yeah !!!

I also have:

Dodge Ram 1 ton
Dodge Ram 1/2 ton
Dodge Ram 1/4 ton

Hummer H2

Ive been thinking about getting a .410 shotgun , what kind of game can I expect to kill with this?

Rick
11-04-2011, 06:34 PM
I prefer a .20 gauge over the .410. I don't think the .20 kicks as bad as the .410 does. They do make a good squirrel gun, though.

LOL, depending on who you talk to ....Anything on the planet....It's all about shot placement....at 800 yds.

Seriously, rabbits squirrels, other small varmints, game birds of any type, maybe not ducks legally, steel shot.....you know...deer with slugs (not legal in Wisconsin either, but do-able.
