I am looking for a folding or collapsible wood burning stove that I could fit in small pockets on a pack or in the large leg pockest of my pants like the pockets on military camo pants, and can't seem to find many online, I know there are quite a few out there but where?
Could someone help me find them?

Here is one of them http://www.rei.com/product/829302/vargo-titanium-hexagon-backpacking-wood-stove

Or the few toward the bottom of this page

I really liked the second site...good reference, but gotta say $60 bucks for a folding stove is a tad high in my book.
Still my favorite is the old canteen stove that fits in the holder with the cup and canteen........

Here is a thread that Phil started that contains dozens of stoves. Some of them are wood burners.

OK I am going out on a limb here - Vargo sucks and there is no such thing as a pocket wood stove... physics appear to be involved when it comes to twigs... been there done that....

Here is why I think its folly, the whole point of getting water to boil or a pan to heat is fuel to gassification. Fuel and air has to burn at a high temp to covert to heated gas - a flue helps or a chimney. I have played with this and the current stuff available has a long way to go....

Works really good for what it is. The door acts as a flue. I don't carry it, as I said, if you want it, cover shipping and give me a coin and it's yours.

Ok I'm not saying I want the vargo I just want something this small, I know there will be a lack of efficiency compared to larger stoves and for this use I'm ok with that, I just want to find the best stove I can that packs as small as the vargo hexagon.

I recently got a Vargo myself. Have several others including the pocket cooker which I love. It is a little heavy. Am new to the Vargo, but am liking the weight and fact that it fold down flat. here is a video I did of using it the other day:

P.S. I have several other videos of other wood burning backpacking stoves as well on the youtube channel

Nice video. A question and (potential) word of caution regarding your grill. It looks like hardware cloth - if so - is it galvanized? If it is galvanized, nasty stuff will come off of it when it burns.

I use a fourdog bushcooker LT1. It's a wonderful multifuel stove. I generally just use twigs with it and it brings water to a boil stupid fast. Have to be careful with it or it will burn food in the bottom of my pot. I definitely recommend this to anyone. Just get the proper size for what ever you're doing. Since I cook for one outside I went with the LT1.

I have been eyeballing the Vargo myself I think I just might jump for one it seems to be what I am looking for in a portable wood stove . I've also been looking at the Four dog's, and some other titanium stoves for tarp and shelters. any body know of some 200.00 and under prefer under lol let me know weight is really not an issue but prefer good compromise between weight and burnout longlivity.

pretty sure it is galvanized. And yes the first burn or two can be nasty. After that it'll run pretty clean. I highly doubt I would ever use it to actually "grill" anything on. I threw it in the pack mainly as a hedge against the top of the stove being too big of an opening for some pots (like my pocket cooker). But this does not seem to be an issue with the vargo. Even my canteen cup fits fine and sturdy on it.
