View Full Version : Make Your Own Electricity
Interesting news story on the wire this morning. A leg brace that generates electricity while hiking or walking.

Pretty neat idea. Never thought about charging 10 cell phones while out hiking. Hmmm? Wonder if it could power electric knife? (no not another knife thread)
You could use the juice it makes to power electric socks, or maybe a heated vest liner like people use for motorcycling.
I think it would be tough to power a GPS though. You can see the call to 911. (out of breath) Yea, I at 85' 64.5" .6" .7" .8"........
As some of you may have noticed, Nell and I have been "sparking" for awhile now, does that count?

Well I think it's electrifying, some people might be shocked. Others will get a charge out of it, for sure. Still others might give us static:D :D :D :D

Just watched a story on the local news on this. They showed a guy walking on a treadmill with one of the devices on each leg. When shown from the front or back the "generator" on the ourside of the knee sticks out abourt three inches. Looks like it could easily get snagged when trekking.
