If you cut the top off (the cone part) and then cut about an extra 1/2" off below the threaded area, invert the funnel and shove it back inside the main body. (much like some ideas from the videos posted.) Poke a 6 and 12 o'clock hole and secure with a small twig. Shell a few periwinkles (sp) and stick them inside. Place in a creek and wait for crawdads to fill the bottle.

Well I have 2, 1 gallon bleach jugs that I carry for water storage at camp. I sewed camo material around them and a large caribiner holds them to my baclpack. I dont fill them up until I set up camp and can boil water. They weigh very little and the handles on them make them easy to attach to your backpack. Once you get 2 gallons of water boiled and purified, it will hold you a couple of days so you can forage for food.
