I think all wipes will be removed at this point and replaced with a bottle.

You'll have the potential for contamination on the outside of the bottle and on the cotton balls or whatever you choose to use to apply the alcohol with. In fact, you'll probably have more opportunity because you have more items involved with the bottle vs. the wipes. The key here, I think, is the fact that they were non-sterile. Look for sterile wipes if that's a concern to you.

Here's the recall notice along with the Lot Numbers. It looks like the wipes are specific to pre-packaged kits.

+1 on more chance for contamination on an item that is "re-used". The sterile, individual wipes that are disposed of after use offer little chance of contamination (from the wipe).

Try iodine wipes. Much better, IMHO.

Just remember that some folks are allergic to iodine.

Great point. That is why I like Chlorine Dioxide for water purification. I do carry both, and generally first go for the iodine. Another problem with alcohol wipes is that the alcohol will eventually evaporate through the packaging. That is not the case for iodine.
