Spring is approaching so I thought I would remind everyone that a tetanus vaccine is probably one of the best vaccines you can have when it comes to wilderness adventures. Forget the old rusty nail scenario. Animal bites or any other puncture wound can infect you with the tetanus bacteria and symptoms can surface in as little as one or two days, long before you were scheduled to return from your outdoor adventure. It can also be deadly. The good news is all that can be avoided with the vaccine. Talk to your family physician. Boosters are only required every ten years. I've had mine, have you had yours?
