Good evening fellow Wilderness Survial members, just a short note from the North. Spent a few days out on Jessie Lake (20 minutes from the house) loading up on some lake trout. The bite was like light and had to really finess the smelts so they would take it. Close to 30 inches of ice with a temp of -15 C. Just can't beat pan fried potato's and fresh lake trout....

I'm jealous. Wish I could do that, but I'll have to keep buying my trout at the store.

Stand back about ten feet from the fish display case. Ask the clerk to throw you the fish from behind the counter. This way you can tell everybody that you caught them.:innocent:

Nice pics, dog. I'm glad you had a good time. I'll bet they were good eating.

Thanks fella's. I was out on the same lake yesterday (no pics) just picked up one Lake trout but got caught in a white out (about 4 ft visibility) and had to go old school and pull out the compass and shoot a bearing to the shore line. It was nuts, got into the tree line and hunkered down till the weather cell blew pass.
