View Full Version : I want to play a game...

Sorry, I tried it in my best John Kramer voice. :innocent:

How about we play a multi-use item game. The rules are very simple. A person list some uses for a particular item, and then everyone else gets to guess at the clues as to which item the person had in mind. The person that correctly guesses the item, then list some uses for another particular item.

Example:

Put me on for a poncho.
Tear me into strands and I am cordage.
Open me wide and catch the rain.
Stuff me full and use me as a pillow.

I just gave clues for a trash bag.

This game is more about being with presented with problems and finding an item that fits with the solution. Granted there can be many solutions for a set of problems, but there is no wrong answer as long as it fits. The only catch is that the person who states the item the lister has in mind will get to choose the next item to guess.

It should be fun and increase our skills of problem solving. :)

Pull my insides out and you'll have eight fold of me.
I can carry a heavy burden, more than you weigh.
My colors can help you find dropped items.
Need a lashing? No problem!
My skills are even fashionable.

paracord or at least rope. knotwork etc

paracord or at least rope. knotwork etc

Paracord or parachute cord is the correct answer. It's your turn to start the next round

Once people get a better hang of the game, we can start using more in-depth uses and clues. We also don't have to keep thinking of new items, but more uses of those items.

But what is a great forest set before me?
Sit for a spell and rest your bones.
I'm a vicious friend, consuming and comforting.
We must work for each other,
Our touches are both warm.
Making clean and new.
Yet preserving.
...
(the answer is the last line)

I don't want to bug you.
I'm a berry pickers friend.
I'm a fishermans friend.
I stand head and shoulders above the rest.

Momma said its time
Daddy showed me how
When he seen the results Grandpa frowned
I've done it standing up
I've done it laying down
I've done it in a foxhole
I've done it while driving to town

I often get wrapped up in my job.
I can look good well dressed or a slob.
And if you're fair
You'll love me I swear
But I'll have nothing to do with a snob.

Very thin, but I can hold lots of food.
I do retain water, though but weigh hardly anything.
I can keep your fire off the wet ground.
Not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I can be very bright.
I can keep a track of you.

In some cases it may not be the sharpest, but it is probably the most dangerous.

hmmmmm.... pass!

Rick
02-03-2011, 09:25 PM
While you are passing, why don't you stop by the Introduction section and tell us a bit about yourself? And I'm curious. Is there an Annapolis, Maryland in the Philippines now since that's where your IP is out of. Or did you just stop by to spam a little?

Dang it!! You big fun stealer! I was gonna ban him for cryin' out loud. I was just fishin' with him. Dag nab it. (walks off kickin' chat).

crashdive123
02-03-2011, 09:31 PM
Ahhhh you were much kinder than me. The spammer from the Philippines with the proxy server is no longer with us.

Rick
02-03-2011, 09:35 PM
It's amazing how stupid spammers are. Like this numb nits up above that says he's from Annapolis, Maryland. Do they think we can't check? They spend all the time to register, wait on the verification email, them BAM! they are gone in a flash. Muhahahahahahahahaha.

crashdive123
02-03-2011, 09:37 PM
Well, he did say he wanted to pass. We just helped him with it. Now he is nothing more than a gaseous memory.

I don't get it. Where does spamming come about and why? What 's the point?

crashdive123

I don't get it. Where does spamming come about and why? What 's the point?

After he posted he added a signature (it's automatically removed when he's banned) that was clearly spam. His IP address and his signature coupled with a nonsensical post (his script of English is probably small) lead only to one conclusion. Why do they do it? Who knows. From some of the more popular spamming areas that we see they're probably paid a very small amount for x number of spam posts they make. I guess the more times the sites they promote are listed, the better the chance that they'll show up on a Google search. If you ever run across forums that aren't very active, all you see are spam posts.

And we generally arm wrestle over who gets to ban them. Lately, Crash has been a push over.
