I have a fair sized property and some big plans for it. We burned off some of the remaining unused property before it rained this afternoon. Enjoy...

Sourdough, I live in one of the few places...that I can do as I please. Noone looked up, noone asked why, and noone called the law. It is good ole' boy rules...Like it or leave from around here! I love it and I know you have it even better!

About the time you lit the match the fire department would have pulled up around here. The cops immediately after. News media shortly after the crowd of neighbors gathered. You don't burn stuff around here unless it's Zombies.

One car stopped Rick....She was met at the road..I asked what she needed, she exclaimed I had beautiful horses. I replied feel free to get a closer look, I thought you were calling the Fire Department. She exclaimed, Oh No, I would never do that and was on her way.

I'm not ready for spring yet! I havnt been ice fishing yet, I havnt put many miles on the snowmachines yet and my snowshoes are still dusty. When we get to 3 or 4 feet of snow..I'll be ready for spring! Fires are okay here too..we just need to get our town to issue us a permit. I've never been called on yet and I sometimes forget to pick up the permit! :whistling:

It's nice to see things like this can still be done somewhere.

burning is an annual spring ritual in much of Maine, but especially downeast (eastern coastal). You are supposed to get a permit from the local fire warden first.

Even with a burn ban in place, we had several wildfires (not controlled burns) out here on the prairie. Some almost did our spring burn for us. It has been real dry on the eastern side of Pikes Peak and we got about an inch of snow two nights ago. Yipppeeee!

I wish I could burn off some brush around here. The only thing is I think most of texas would burn up. What is this mythical thing called rain you speak of?

In Georgia, you can burn from October to April. No burning for the summer.

Lots of small towns in SW WI, still burn off the tall grasses, and the local volunteer Fire Departments, actually come out, play with fire, have a picnic, drink some beer and call it a party.
Used to burn leaves in my garden one year, till in the next........Now I would go to jail.

Congrats on still controlling weeds the way mother nature intended..........Instead of Agent Orange-ing everything.

Here is a brush pile in Louisiana at DD and SIL place, slash from a pine plantation harvest, they started getting pine beetles. Year ago, New Years day.

He was on the local FD so called the chief and got the go ahead, we even had a chopper come by and check it out, LOL,........ couple of guys in lawn chairs drinking beer and having a "camp fire".
