Packing up now, gonna be heading out to area SE of Monroe, La.
Got an invite to a friend of my SIL, hunting camp, near Tesas Wild life area.

Pretty big area, so we will see I haven't hunted there before.
Supposed to be back Sunday.

You know, he didn't say what he was hunting. Could be a cold beer for all we know.

Well, seen quite a few deer, mostly does, so didn't shoot anything.
Land owners boy killed an 8 point buck Fri. so we weren't skunked.

Didn't see any bears, supposed to be a several around, but did see my 1st armadillo in the woods.

The land is surrounded by a National forest, but is on 300 acres of private land.
Maybe next time.

Had to head out as there was an ice storm coming in from the west, and they don't have plows or salt truck around here.
I-20 and I-49 closed, so we did back roads to get back.

Fun trip, different country, gotta love it.

The connection I'm using is really slow as I have some pic's of the area we were hunting in.
As it started rain freezing rain, sleet, a little snow, I took some pic's of icicles on some palmetto's, just seemed funny to me.

Anyway, this was the first time I saw palmetto's as well.

Down here a ice storm is a big deal, Shreveport only has 4 sanding trucks!
