I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the Becker BK-2 Companion and the Becker BK-7 Combat Utility?

I decided to get myself the BK-2 Companion as I have wanting one for a while now. I researched what I wanted in a knife, general outdoors, survival, cut wood or skin a bear type of knife. One that will hold a good edge.

Normally my knives are ordered on-line because there is no decent place to buy them near where I live. The online price for the BK-2 is $102 CDN.

I was told a store nearby had one in stock, so I called. Turns out he has the BK-7 Combat Utility. He ordered it in for someone but they never picked it up. It lists at $120 CDN but said he would let it go for $85. It seems to be the same basic knife, but a couple inched longer. It’s a lot of knife...

Does anyone have either or both knifes that they can comment on them?

I've got the BK2 and like it a lot. If weight is a consideration you may not like because they are heavy. It's not a concern that I have, but something to consider. The price (fopr both you mention) seem a little high. http://www.amazon.com/Ka-Bar-Becker-BK7-Combat-Utility/dp/B001IPMG8K

You need to read Pict's report on the BK 7...does anybody recall where it is right off? :confused1:

BK 2 is a small knife with an extra lb of weight and a sacrificed edge geometry. My opinion....

Show me something carved with it?
I know you can baton through space shuttles with it but what can you make with it?
