Hey guys , I have been so busy with stuff I forgot to post here so first let me say I am sry :hammer: I have been working on some bows and knives in the shop and here is my newest bush knife, the Companion.


STATS: The Companion
Overall length is 9.5"
blade is 01 and Flat ground
5/32 thick
4.5" long
handle is G10 MCam PM for other handle options
5" long

The pics below show the black oxide and the last pic is before the oxide was put on and the handle screws were replaced after sanding.

Thats a slick looking knife EA! I like everything about it. You should enter it on the BFC bushcraft challenge. I have used that material on my knife and really like it.

Its a challeng on Blade forums in the Wilderness and Survival section. There quite a few makers making knives to enter and see how it performs doing things like prepping firewood, making bow fire starters deadfall traps etc... That knife looks like it would do great at all those tasks. I don't have anything near ready to enter.

It was designed for those task but all ten are customer orders and I have more steel coming, any Idea the deadline?

Not sure but they already started testing the knifes I think.

Eh I could submit it next year. I like this one a lot and will use it through out the next year anyway. Swamprat and I have a couple of week long trips we are planning so we will have real world experience with them and not just something set up at the house.

I really have started liking this 01 and after fooling with the other grinds I find that I like the flat grind best for what I use a knife for: skinning deer, slicing meat, making traps and building fires and more often than not just cutten some rope or opening a box :laugh:
