Hello everyone, I am so glad to find this group, I didn't know there was a wilderness survival forum. We [my wife and I] are starting to spend more time in the great outdoors, I want to be prepared as much as I can. Last March my wife ran her snowmobile into a 50' blow hole, luckily she was thrown over the handle bars and out of the hole, but in doing so she broke her femur, We had to wait 5 hours with her laying in the snow for the helli, from that day I will not be that unprepared again.

Hoping to learn and share

Thanks Wes

Welcome home. There's a perfect example of why Vicodin or something similar should be in every survival first aid kit. I'm sure that was an agonizing wait. I'm glad it work out okay.
