Very nice job. I like it a lot. If you intend to actually carry it outdoors then you need to consider a drain in the bottom of the wood sheath. Even condensation will need to escape. Just a thought. You did a great job on it.

Thats TOOO COOOOOOL! Great job Ian! Dave told me it was pretty cool, but man, he never said it was that unique. Thanks for finally posting it. So is Dave pestering you to make a bunch to sell at his stand too.LOL

Nice looking knife and sheath. I'm thinking after seeing a few sheaths made of wood that might be a direction to head in. It really adds to the project without a doubt. It looks like you used the same wood for the sheath as was used for the handle. Am I right?

Thanks for the feedback. yeah the handle and sheath are made of the same wood.It is made of 35 layers of oak and the outside layer is made of maple that was cut from a piece of trim that I had from a job I was on. I will have to think about putting a weep hole in it. I wanted to use some brass inlay in the wood but I already had like 40 hours in it. But my next project might be made of black walnut. Not quite sure yet. Yeah Dave tried to get me to make more of them but he cant offer me the right price. Takes me a while to get one done.
