What are common everyday sources for Kydex one could recycle?
Besides the things that are already holsters and sheaths what can I snag to make a holster or sheath if I need one?
Kydex is a bit like metal. There are a lot of things made out of it but not all are suitable for holster making. Dropped ceiling components and fake wood to name a couple.

How about pannels large enough for real work?
Car parts? How about cafiteria trays? Are they kydex?
Can I soften and rework a folding chair? How about a hard shell attache case?

well; there are a lot of thermopastics like kydex, and many will be suitable for molded sheaths. kydex is just a proprietary brand name for a family of plastics anyway.
places to salvage it or similar plastics include automotive seatbacks, truck bed liners and even some child's toys/playsets.

yes, many of those things are made from suitable thermoplastics.

here's one i just thought of [because i went out for a smoke and we use it as a sort of end-table for the ash tray]:

The cat is really going to be pi$$ed.
I think I can get a holster for the N frame out of her litterbox.
